Research on late gothic and early renaissance altars in Transylvania in 2008 and 2011. Non-invasive measurement of altars located in an authentic environment of the Saxon community in Romanian Transylvania brings new knowledge of their artistic and technological relation to Central European art centres of the 15thand 16thcentury. Specific features of local workshops can be found especially in the choice of materials. The research is being carried out by an informal international team including ALMA. First results are published in restorer Cristina Serendan’s dissertation. In the Acta Artis Academica 2010 Proceedings you can read an article dedicated to brocate fabrics imitations.
